Saskatchewan Company Launches Unique On-Line Business Planning Software

Regina, Sask. - Regina-based Onagon Interactive Inc. today officially launched an exciting set of new business planning products. Onagon is the only company in Canada currently offering this type of comprehensive business planning software in an on-line environment.
PowerplanPro.com is an on-line package of business planning software tools and services targeted at the business and enterprise markets; SimplanPro.com is the same software, tailored to the entrepreneurial market; and VPSPro.com targets the more general business market.
“Solid financial projections are the most important part of the business plan – they are also the most difficult part of the plan to create. Our software has been built to help users create well developed financial projections – easily,” said Rod Francis, president of Onagon Interactive Inc.
The software walks users through a simple process which results in the creation of a solid set of financial projections. It also provides users with a complete set of business planning and analysis tools, including: a price and costing model, sensitivity analysis, a business plan writer, and a personal financial statement generator. It also enables users to collaborate and share files over the Internet, and provides users with access to a network of advisors, industry statistics, mentor organizations and more. All information is targeted to the user's industry and location.
“We spent a lot of time researching the business planning needs of small and mid-sized companies. We used our findings to help us develop a product that no one else in Canada is currently offering. We believe we our software uses the best processes of any business planning system in the world,” said Francis.
Francis said that previous beta versions of the software have been used by approximately 7,000 users around the world. The feedback was excellent and instrumental in the development of the new software. The system was modeled after the company’s original guide book system that was successful in assisting 90% of Onagon’s clients in accessing financing and starting a business.”
Francis and his partners began developing business software a number of years ago. In 2003, they launched an earlier version of VPS Pro as a pre-cursor to the new software. The feedback they received from their early customers was used in the development of this new, much more comprehensive package of tools and services.
They felt an on-line business tool would be the best option because it would allow users to access business plans from any computer with an Internet connection, and there would never be a need to upgrade existing software, or install new software – because it would all be done automatically for the user.
One of the key benefits of the new software is that it has been created in an very easy to use format, so that a novice can use it, create a solid set of financial projections and from that, create a well developed business plan.
“For many small and mid-sized business, it's hard to find the time to learn how to use business planning software. That's why we spent so much time refining this product to ensure that it takes little time to learn. We wanted to ensure that our products were fast, simple to learn and worked better than any other business planning process around – we think we've succeeded in meeting all of our goals,” said Francis.
